What is Vinyl Fence?

Vinyl is a synthetic material made from ethylene and chlorine (both of which are natural substances). When combined, these substances form Polyvinyl Chloride, also known as PVC, which is also commonly referred to as Vinyl. There is a case that old vinyl is recycled into water pipe. Vinyl fence was developed in the USA in 1950s for long lasting fence. Unlike wood fence, it is light weight, durable and maintenance free.

VMA (Vinyl Manufacturers Association) is the consumers assurance of quality. All vinyl may appear the same and it is very difficult to identify real vinyl products. The VMA has been established to develop product performance standards to govern all manufactures and institute a comprehensive accreditation program to ensure ongoing compliance with these specifications.
